Hi! - sorry for the terrible images.

Aspirated from a fungus on dead log. 2-3 mm long, pale with very dark patches on abdomen, and distinctive stripes on mesonotum.


It feels a *lot* like Drosophilidae to me, but I cannot tell if it is, let alone species. (Also found Leucophenga maculata on the same 'shroom!)

Looks very like Hirtodrosophila trivittata (Drosophilidae) - not sure whether this has been recorded in Scotland before.

I should have said! Not Scotland, collected in East Sussex
