Hello,
We were unable to characterize this species observed on july 13th in Burgondy (Yonne department, near the town of Sens). Observed on Heracleum sphondylium inflorescence (Apiacaea). In a first approach we look for Phasiinae with no success. The dark face of this species is surprising. Is-it possible to help me ? Many thanks ; sincerely yours. Jean-Michel Garel.

Did you collect it ? It might be a Phasiinae- lookalike, but it is not Freraea, Rondania and it does not appear to be Dufouria, thought it might be one of those rare species

Unfortunately, Theo, this specimen was not collected. It is very nice, if we can viewed this species as a rare Phasiinae. Many thanks, Jean-Michel Garel.

Chetoptilia is one of Rondani's misspellings that the rules say should be kept. It should have been
Chaetoptilia.

OK John, that's because I did not find it in FE, INPN nor ITIS
Thanks

I always correct Rondani's misspellings (and any other obvious misspelling, but 80 % + are Rondani's). I find it highly unscientific to keep repeatings errors and mistakes for over one-and-a-half century. I am quite aware that the nomenclatoral police does not agree; in my opinion the Code is "badly in need of revision."
Feel free to write Chetoptilia, if you want, as long as I can write Chaetoptilia.
