Hello,
on this fly from June 12, 2020, from Leipzig (Saxony/Germany) at first I thought it was a Cylindromyia species, but I did not find any suitable photos. Now I hope for help.
Best regards
Maik

Might be
Cylindromyia brassicaria group... The definitive book to identify Tachinids is
https://www.zobod...1-0170.pdf. If you look at the
Cylindromyia key, you will probably not be able to find out a species for your fly, but you learn which characters must be recognizable to get to a species. I got stuck already in the beginning - the pictures don't show the details.
So only a skilled Tachinidist like Theo might be able to say more. Let's wait.
Regards, Sundew

The book is great. Thank you very much! As a beginner I get dizzy with the many species ... I will work on myself! Best regards, Maik

Please note the size of the fly, it is small.
This is the female of C. pusilla.

Yes, the fly was very small, much smaller than Cylindromyia interrupta.
Thank you very much and best regards,
Maik
PS.: There are many bugs on this meadow, too Sciocoris cursitans.
