Hi,
Yersterday evening I encountered a very interesting elongate fly that I could not assign to a family at first (tachinidish look, muscidish wing venation). After a lot of search I found a good match, namely
Eginia ocypterata, a strange Muscid and a seemingly rather rarely met fly. I suppose it is a male. I wished the pictures were of better quality, but it was already getting dark and the fly rested deep in the grass. Nevertheless, I hope my ID can be confirmed! The locality was southwestern Germany, 20 km west of Stuttgart, a quite dry meadow with oaks and pines.
Thanks for help, Sundew

I agree with male E. ocypterata. Your observation also fits phenology: mid June in European Russia = end of May in W Europe.
