Is this a female Rhamphomyia sp. or something else?
Also, are the scales on the legs sexual ornaments or do they serve another purpose?
Found in Central Greece a few days ago.

I think I can just make out the onset of the fork in R
4+5 in the right wing, so that would make it
Empis. Should be near
E. pennipes.
The pennation on the legs serves as a visual trick to enlarge body size and thus suggests high(er) fertility in mating swarms (short version).
