Hi,
These Empis flies are active at the moment, and the key https://www.dipte...(2017).pdf does not bring me to a result. The female has pennate hind femora and distinctly hairy hind tibiae, so perhaps Paul is able to put a name on it or finds out to which group it belongs. The locality is southwestern Germany, 20 km west of Stuttgart.
Thanks in advance, Sundew

Some more pics (the fly climbed on a plastic duster meanwhile) :D

Probably from the group with Empis nigripes, tricky even under the microscope.

Empis nigripes complex is fine, thank you! I see where I went wrong in the key: I thought the dark thorax stripes to be between the lines of bristles, not along them. Sometimes it is difficult to decide!
