Hi.
Today, 12th May 2020, I discovered this red-eyed Fly resting on a leaf in a moorland in N Germany (Krummesser Moor), it was not shy at all.
Very handsome, anybody knows who it is?
Thank you
Chris

Looks like a female of
Rhamphomyia barbata but do you remember if the hind legs were pennate (with feather-like hairs)?

Thanks Paul, looks good.
As to the hind legs, this is the best I have.
