Hi,
I found this strange diptera on april 24th, 2020 on the wall of my balcony near Bologna, Italy. I really do not know to which family it might belong, can you help me?
Thanks in advance.
Franziska

Hello,
Tachypeza nubila (Hybotidae). They are very frequent on walls and trees here in Germany at the moment, too.

Thanks a lot Juergen for your prompt answer :)
I just noted that Fauna Europea cites for Italy another very similar species T. subnubila - apparently T. nubila officially does not occur in Italy. So I guess it might be that species. Do you agree?
Best regards
Franziska
