Hello,
Is it a non-standard
Paykullia maculata, or maybe
P. nubilipennis?
Thanks in advance.
(Mediterranean coast, France, end April 2020, 8,5mm)

I agree it would key out to nubulipennis. I have no experience with this species and I am not sure about its status.

Thank you Theo.
nubilipennis being not listed for France is another reason for remaining cautious.

IMHO: yes, it is:
In the key: Rhinophorinae (B. Herting, 1961) Chaetostevenia (now Paykullia) C. nubilipennis
is listed for "Gallia mer., Italia, Dalmatia" and as we can see in your image, it has a pair of strong acr bristles presutural, which differs from makulata, too.
Excerpt from the key: "
Beine völlig schwarz. Keine acrostichalen Makrochäten vor der Quernaht . . . maculata Fall.
Beine rotgelb. Meist 1 Paar stärkere acr vor der Naht . . .nubilipennis Loew
"
