Great, a new one for me. Not all Pollenia seem to be scary to ID :)
Thanks John!

Hi Lorin,

Congratulations for finding a new one :) I'm happy to help.

Pollenia is my favorite genus of flies. I suppose that they aren't very scary to id if you invest enough time to learn how to separate them. I attack this genus like i'm Mr. T Mapogo claiming his territory. rudis, angustigena and hungarica are the most problematic of the genus in my opinion.

Best wishes,
John

To quote a quote by Susan Walters from the insektenfotos-Forum:
"Male Pollenia are the most frustrating creatures. ...
I currently hate Pollenia..."

:D

Hello Lorin,

I understand the frustration of dealing with Pollenia. I've wanted to pull out my hair on several occasions. But i really like Pollenia so i keep trying to master this genus.

Best wishes,
John
