Hi Frank,
This is either M. equestris, or M. flavus or M. confusus. Very hard from a picture... Confusing it might be!
I hope you collected it?
If you did, I'd be very grateful if you send it to me (together with all hoverflies you collected in Portugal, since I am working on a new paper with updates on the PT hoverfly fauna). Thanks!
