Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Nephrotoma male "wasp waist" => Nephrotoma quadrifaria

Hi, found this male in my garden (Middle Franconia near deciduous forest) on 20190703 and I cannot find a similar one with "wasp waist"...
Any help is highly appreciated!

Have you ever seen a similar deformation of the abdomen? Is it perhaps caused by a parsitoid?

It is gravid or their are bacterial spores which are mutualistic in them.

well.the male is only w/ bacteria.I I have Id'dmany tipuloidea and they have that condition.
