Less than 5mm long, I have no idea of the family (less yet the genus and sp. :p).
Thank you for your help

Thank you, Kahis. Could it be P. minutus?

i think it is not possible to say much more here.
This fly is pretty common in Corylus avellana ;) I mean the genus of the fly. ;)

Well, it was not found in a hazel...

I think too much pale on the legs for
minutus.

minutus and australominutus can be this pale on legs.
Can you see a slight apico-ventral rim on the front tibia?
Side of scutum looks very shiny in the photo and one would expect it to be a bit dulled in minutus (which has a rather clear median shining line on the scutum)
cheers

I think the mesonotum is too glossy over-all, especially in the dorsal view.

I took another photo today, though the quality is not good. This time we have a male and a female. Size is quite small, about 3-4mm

This one clearly has a pollinose mesonotum, but here I cannot distinguish the narrow, glossy, median strip...

Thank you or your interest, Paul. I have a last photo that might be useful though the quality is again poor.
