SW France yesterday. Body length around 3 mm. In the grass not far from a wet area.

We are confident in the family, much less afterwards especially because of this seemingly whitish subscutellum. Agromyzinae ?

Hi Daniel, it's not a subscutellum but the halteres being white. Maybe a Phytomyza sp.(ilicis?)

I did some more research on this little fly and still wonder about the genus Phytomyza. I could not find one member of this genus, including P. ilicis with black underparts. However, I find some similarities with this one.

What do you think ? Could it be the same species or at least a member of the genus Melanagromyza ?
