Dissection is not necessary, the abdominal pattern it's quite specific for this species but variation are possible. You can see van Stenis key (The West-Paleartic species of Spiomyia Meigen (Diptera, Syrphidae)).

I used van Steenis key, but since I don't have experience with this genus I was not absolutely sure. Thanks again for your help!
