Hello,

I observed this Asilidae on the 23th of July in Bray-Dunes in the north of France. I think of a Philonicus albiceps, what do you think ?

Thank you very much, do you have a trick to differentiate it quickly from Dysmachus trigonus ?

Bigger, longer legs, less hairy than Dysmachus, most importantly the ovipositor is not flattened laterally and has spines at the tip.
