Found it sun bathing few days ago at Israel.
I tried to take a picture several times but whenever he notice me getting close enough he flew away and then come back to the same place. It seem he was enjoying the sun since he tried to avoid the shade area.
After a jumping spider appear he scared and flew away for good before I got a decent picture. Hope this one will be enough.
I changed the subject according to the recent identification updates.

Anthrax or
Spogostylum, distinguishing between them requires critical examination of antennae. in the eastern mediterranean the fauna is poorly known and i do not have enough specimens to name these from photos. Wing patterns exceedingly variable and pattern of scales on abdomen very prone to abrasion.

Really, it would be need a very detailed LATERAL shot of antenna.
Now I have a good loup (manual) that turns possible to see more details on flies. :)

Well, I guess it is dead end :(
I'm attaching an enlargment of the wing for future records. although David said it variant, maybe someday it will help someone.
