Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachina or Nocwickia? (09.06.19) --> Peleteria rubescens

Hello,

normally I would call this Tachina fera/magnicornis (there were many around these days), but it seems to have dark legs and antennae. Can it be Nowickia ferox? It does not have the general look of that species (but I only know the genus Nowickia from pictures; N. ferox should be the only species, which could occur here).

It was a really big fly (ca. 15 mm). On marguerites near forest on Sunday afternoon (northwest Germany).

I think. you hit the spot, thank you! I had that species only once, yet, 5 years ago in July 2014.
