Chloropidae, Chloropinae: Merochlorops Howlett in Maxwell-Lefroy, 1909 spec.: Several species in the Oriental Region (partly still undescribed) are pestilentious, attacking cardamom (Amomum subulatum). Different from similarly coloured Neoloxotaenia spp., they have a short rounded third antennal segment. Puparia of some species are extremely elongated and narrowed at one end.
