Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Need help identifying green Pantophthalmidae (Costa Rica)

I would appreciate any help to identify the species of this green Pantophthalmidae found at sea level in forested area of Drake Bay, Costa Rica on May 1st, 2019. large size, approximately 1.5 inches long. I can provide additional information or photos as needed.

I think the colours are being altered by grease leeching from the body - this is a common problem with pantophthalmids. Try washing gently for 24 hours in ethyl-acetate - being careful not to break off those antennae and feet. Then the true colours will be visible and you'll be able to run it through the keys by Val ... I can send those if necessary. Do post more photos when it is clean :)

This specimen was frozen so the perceived oil is condensation collecting. The green color is very prevalent.
