Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Cecidomiidae? from Romania

Hi,
today i was for 2 hours (or something) out, made some photo also.
this i think is some kind of cecidomiid (but not sure). maybe can be identified?
hilly area (~650m), 3.october.2007, size something like 2-3 mm.
spotted thru the gills of a mushrooms, more exactly some kind of Lepiota excoriata. there i think she layed eggs (for couple of minutes) (maybe this can be helpfull in IDing).

Cecidomyiidae is the most difficult family in diptera, if I'm not wrong. There are others, but this is a hell of family. :D

You are wrong. Chironomidae is the worst by distance.
In fact Cecidiomyids should not be so bad, but few people care for them, because they are fragile, and you end up looking microscopic preparations rather than flys.
