Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Sarcophagidae: --> Not Sarc but Phyto melanocephala (Rhinophoridae)

Northern Germany, Hamburg-Rissen, Wittenbergener Ufer, walking path along the river Elbe, at a leaf of Populus, 28th of August 2018, (Photos: kuv). I think a little bit similar to Brachicoma deviaI ... in the Diptera gallery. Please help to get the ID.

More likely Rhinophoridae than Sarcophagidae.

Right. Sarcs don’t have a petiole in the wing, at least not in Central Europe. This is Phyto melanocephala.
