Hello,
what kind of wasp is this? I saw it in August 12/07 in our garden (Tyrol, 900 m a.s.l.)

Hi Angie,
I believe, that here you will not get a better answer as on insektenfotos.de / 12. Aug. It is definitively not a Symmorphus, but an Ancistrocerus, and in my opinion a species recognition is not possible.
For Tristan: Symmorphus always has a longitudinal furrow in tergum I, tergum I in general also is longer.
