An East Asian invider
Myennis sibirica Portschinsky, 1892 (Ulidiidae) accidentally introduced to Ukraine with roughly trated oak logs apparently in 1980s, previously known from a dozen of specimens from Amur River and S Korea, was discovered to occur in Ukraine two years ago. Now it is found to be well established in oak forests throughout N Ukraine and clearly expanding its areal. Like its European "sibs",
Myennis octopunctata, the Asian
M. sibirica is purely a saprophagous species associated with dead wood and occurring on bleeding oaks.
