Location: Midwest Sweden (Dalsland)
Date; 2007-JUL-22
Habitat: Coniferous forest, bogs
Actually I thought I was shooting a
Tachina fera, but I see now on the computer that it is a completely different species. I suspect this is something close to
Phryxe or maybe Goniini.
Edit: Changed subject (Tachinidae (3))

My first thought was
Peleteria but it looks a bit small, so now I am not sure. It has a wide frons but I don't think it is goniini and it doesn't have hairy eyes so it can't be
Phryxe (and
Phryxe don't have orange abdomenal side-patches). It looks interesting but it's not something I have seen before so it needs Theo :)
Catch me a specimen and I'll key it for you! ;)
