Thread subject: Diptera.info :: ID please: Syrphidae in BC, Canada?

Hello! Observation from October 2nd, 2017, on Vancouver Island. Habitat: on the edge of the wood next to the beach (Long Beach, Pacific Rim National Park). Could it be Sericomyia flagrans? Thank you in advance!

Sericomyia has bare eyes and a straighter vein R4+5.
