Hello,
Could this be Anatopynia plumipes, male? Or is it impossible to identify that species from a photo?
Pictures taken 06-03-2017 in a park in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands
Thanks in advance,

I agree with
Anatopynia plumipes, comparing to the fly in the gallery.

Thanks for your reply.
It looks exactly the same as the one in the gallery indeed. I'm not completely sure if there are similar looking species though...?
Kind regards,
Reindert

The certain way to identify this species is to look at tibial spurs and genitalia with good magnification. In Fittkau's key,
Anatopynia is separated from other Macropelopiini (sensu lato) by "Tibialsporne dornförmig, ohne geordnete Nebenzähne an einer Seite. Flügel nur am Distalende mit Makrotrichienbesatz."
I will attach part of Fittkau's redescription.

Thank you very much for your help and for attaching Fittkau's description!
I won't be able to check out this specimen with a magnifier (I only have these two pics), but I'm sure this description will take me at least a few steps further.
Kind regards,
Reindert
