This from N London recently, is it C. arcuatum?

Hi Tristan,

Chrysotoxum for sure. I'm fairly positive it's C. festivum though. Considering that the yellow stripes on the abdomen don't reach the side (almost), and the completely yellow tarses.

C. arcautum has a broader abdomen and the stripes don't match. But I'm saying this as an enthousiastic amature; I'm no expert!;)

Hi Tristan,
It's certainly not arcuatum, which has more yellow and is a dumpier looking fly. It's most likely to be C festivum, which is generally one of the commoner Chrysotoxum's in the UK.
