Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Unknown Syrphidae

I have no idea of the species of this one. It was on a umbellifer in the urban area of Lisbon. The most distinctive feature is the swallen femora. Lenght is about 1cm.

Here in Germany this would be Syritta pipiens. But I don't know, if there are similar species in your region.

Syritta pipiens is fairly common in most European countries, including Portugal. So there's a good chance that this is in fact S. pipiens. I think it is!
