Berlin - mid August - 6.5mm female
I must admit that I am not certain that this species is a Tachinid. I have tried Tschorsnig's keys but they make me frustrated. VERY frustrated. I have wanted to post this for weeks now but I am always so busy.
The fly is very interesting and seemingly intelligent. I'd love to know the species. A Wonderful fly regardless.

It is Erythrocera nigripes, haven't seen that forma while !
It does not occur in western Europe, but can be relative common in eastern Europe.

Thank You Theo :) I'm happy to have a name for this fly. I find it to be a fascinating species. I want to know more about it. My Wife also likes this fly very much. I see that the host is unknown for this species. I will try to study it next year. Maybe we can discover the host.
I opened up Tschorsnig's keys to see where I go wrong. I see that he mentions black legs but lists a sidenote that some may have a yellowish tibia. I skip this step because my specimen has no yellow. I assume that I am wrong. Now I see to continue through the keys regardless of the sidenotes.
intersting that you do not have it in Nederlanden. I can send some photos to your email if you want to admire it some more. I am fascinated with this fly.

it's a lovely fly. I know that you must have it in your collection since you are a specialist/expert of Tachinidae. I just thought I'd offer a photo to you.
I've used the "add this attachment to family album" option. I see that the gallery is lacking this species. If this doesn't work, then I will use the "submit gallery photo" option.
