I've followed the discussion on Portschinskia loewi HERE with interest.
We have a few species of Oestridae in North America with most in the genus Cuterebra, 34 spp. of rabbit and rodent bots. In over 40 years collecting I have seen just 7 specimens, obviously a rarely seen/collected group at least in Canada. This is one from Alberta, Canada, collected 17 June 1971. Length: 16mm

HI Tony,

I will not contradict your observation that Cuterebra are rare or to say the least difficult to find in the field. However, compared to Portschinskia they are easy-peasy !
