Hello!

Can anyone identify this fly on the photo? Its length was about 13 mm, and it sat on a meadow near Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Looks like a drone-fly, Eristalis spp. Maybe a Eristalis tenax ?

Hello,

I seem to see one hair row on the eye. This would confirm E. tenax.

Yes, I agree too. A female Eristalis tenax!
