Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae? from Romania

Hi,
again another (i think) tachinid from Retezat National Park.
size if remember well somewhere like 8-9 mm.
photo taken in 18.august.2007 around ~1300m.
maybe an furter identification is possible.

Hi cosmln,
It's a Macquartia
The eyes are very close on vertex, which is a good clue (exceptional in Tachinidae).
My guess it's a male of M. dispar, but not sure.

thanks for direction.
so another species of
Macquartia.
the photos are resizes/crops from 10 MP photos. you need some special part to be sure about the species? if yes please let me know. i will crop that part (put here or send that to you personally).

It's very likely M. dispar.
If you didn't collect it, I can't do better than that.
