Mysterious Syrphidae from Gergeti, Kazbegi, Georgia; 23/7/2017. At a altitude of 2200m.
Big and beautiful species, but I can't even find the genus.
Wo can help me?

Wow, Jef. very nice! It's a male Sericomyia, but it used to be called Conosyrphus, because of the face. There are two species, endemic for the Caucasus, and I think this should be the male of Sericomyia volucellinus.
Please collect at least one for me! :-)

Thanks Gerard!
I'm sorry. I didn't have my collecting material with me. (which is a big sin, I know!)
