I don't think this is a Neomochtherus species but rather a Tolmerus or Machimus species.....a picture of a male would be welcome.....

Armen, I am sure they are not the same species. Their general appearance is very different. And more importantly, genitalia are different as are the thoracic bristles...

Reinoud already told you ;) :
Tolmerus or
Machimus. It is one of those for sure. But the chaotic taxonomic situation of this group of genera makes the ID from pictures, even just to genus level, almost impossible. Sometimes it is very tricky even with the specimen in hand.
I applaud Reinoud as he usually ID from pictures specimens of these very tricky Asilinae with a 'cf.' Very prudent and very wise ;)

Thank you Piluca! :-) @ Armen, your species belongs indeed to the same group and M. rusticus could well be right. If your picture were taken in NW Europe i would have been sure...
