Yes, you are right. Was the photo taken in any sunny broadleaf forest?

It is interesting with conifers. PLease, can you share with us the photo of the biotop? In my region (westernmost Czech Rep.) is R. maculatus closely associated with light broad-leaf forests, nature-near mixed forest on stony debris or bushy stands similar to nature forests.

Our region is in the zone of southern taiga, the forests are mostly mixed, with a predominance of certain breeds.
