is it possible to ID this Bombyliidae?
France, Provence, Dept. Vaucluse, Ménerbes, 260 m, 2016-08-22.

Geron. But the genus is taxonomicly in state of chaos :o I wouldn't dare to venture a name of species... I gave up working with keys months ago. However, somebody well into Bombyliids might be able to say something...
EDIT: The situation doesn't seem to be as bad in France as it is in the Iberian Peninsula... Only 3 species recorded in France. This might be then the female of
Geron halteralis. However, don't take this as a proper ID. It is only tentative ;) A lateral picture showing the face more clearly would be of great help.
