Hello,
Splendid Tachinid, in Savoy, 2007/7/17, 10-12mm.
Is it possible to tell the genus and maybe the species?
Thanks in advance.

It's a female (?) Masicera, often mistaken for a Sarcophagidae.
Great you noted directly it is indeed a Tachinid.
Can't give a species name, but silvatica is very common on Umbelliferae.

Theo,
Thanks a lot.
After reading so much posts on Tachinids, one begins to have an educated eye for them. It is not in the gallery, I'll post it.
May I say
M. cf. silvatica, or is it enough to say
Masicera sp.?
