Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Geomyza SP => Geomyza balachowskyi?

I wounder if it's possible to ID this Geomyza?!. When I compare pictures is looks like G. hackmani, but I dont know much about other species in that family.

Very likely this is Geomyza balachowskyi. In G. hackmani the abdomen in the female is normally not banded like in your specimen. And in G. hackmani the subscutellum is normally dark. If you collected the specimen you can check the shape of sternite 8 to make sure which species you are dealing with.
