This animal was caught within an emergence trap in a freshwater lake in Ireland. He is approx 3-4mm long. Can anyone confirm if it is a ceraptogonidae? And if not then any ideas?
Thanks,
Elaine.

Thanks for that. I was just wondering then if both the animals in this picture are chironomids? I was pretty sure the guy on the right was but is the animal on the left also a chironomid? Thanks,
Elaine.
