hello flyforum,

Today I found a nice Muscidae sp., sitting on leaves in the shadow.
Place Amsterdam Forest.
size: 10-15mm
colours: nice!

This fly seems quite characteristic, perhabs it can be identified from the picture?

Why not Mydaea humeralis? I think on 3-d image 3 strong pv on basal half of f2 are visible.

Well, I was torn between setifemur and humeralis ! :D
Your choice seems better.

Greetings.

To tell you truth, Stephane, I'm not still sure that our choise of Mydaea instead of some Phaonia-Helina is correct.
I'd be happy to get some approval too:@

At least, it shouldn't be a Phaonia since the pd bristle on t3 is missing (knowing there is one exception - P. latifrontalis).
I am now impatient to get the Master's opinion, since I know Mydaea is his favourite genus. ;)
