Hi everyone,

is someone here able to say sth. about this specimen? Length about 1,5 mm.

Most orange Diptera larvae turn out to be Cecidomyiidae. As this one appears to be living in rotten wood, I would suggest Lestremiinae, but that is just a guess - I would need to see the specimen to confirm.

Alright, that seems plausible. I didn't know there are also saprophagous species in the family, but now I just read about it, interesting! Thank you, Tony, for your guess!
