Hi,
Today I came across these small lovers, and my first thought was: Phoridae, thus hopeless. However, I found them remarkably "bald-headed". I battled through the genus key by Disney 1983 (
http://people.ds....01983a.pdf) and after some loop ways and uncertainties proudly arrived at
Gymnophora. The insufficient resolution of the pictures would not allow to go deeper into the matter. A comparison with older forum threads made me quite sure that I found the right genus. In
http://www.dipter...d_id=10567 Kahis (Jere) says, "slender legs and no long setae on frons are good characters for this genus." So if nobody has objections, I would submit some pics to the gallery, which is still poor in
Gymnophora pictures.

Some details: in the upper pic the wing of the male shows the forking of vein 3 at its tip; left is the female's frons without bristles between anterior ocellus and base of antennae, and right the genitalia are shown - tight coupling!
The quality of the cropped photos is not absolutely satisfying; however, the flies were quite small...
