september, west Romania, into a forest, 1000m altitude

Bibio pomonae or varipes?

First i had thinked it's pomonae, but after watching this guy pictures now i'm confused

That site has many misidentifications. The photo of female pomonae in the gallery shows sharply contrasting red femora and black tibiae and pale posterior veins, like your fly.

John is totally right. This is a female pomonae.
Pretty late in the season.

As for the other website, the male pomonae is totally OK. The pomonae in the ' wing' section given as pomonae is clearly a mistake, it is from the picture previously given as ' varipes', which might actually be a female johannis.

General warning: Alle females of the johannis - lanigerus group have red femora as well as tibiae. In pomonae, the tibiae are black (and the wing venation is different).

I wrote the wrong date. the photo was taken on 31 august 2015.
the fly was unmoving even was afternoon. maybe was dead :|
