Can you help me with ID. Just started exploring the world of insects. Its amazing. Photo taken 22 May, 2007; Location: Central Scotland; on privet hedge; Length: mental note so not 100% sure, 10mm. I appreciate your help.

remember - no spaces in the file name and keep it under 200KB :)

It is Hydrotaea sp. male (Muscidae).

And it could well be Hydrotaea dentipes.
