Thread subject: Diptera.info :: short-winged fly (nearly wingless)? => Crumomyia pedestris

Dear dipterists,

what's this? Is it a dipteran at all? I found it while digging a hole in my garden to get some loam. Well, in the strict sense I found it inside that hole, but I'm pretty sure it must have fallen into it...

It is a dipteran, Crumomyia pedestris (Sphaeroceridae).
