In eastern North America females overwintering as adults belong to tribe Ichneumonini.

Looks like a Tromatobia, but I'm not an expert. :)

Many thanks, John and Lars.
Here in Germany I have found several Ichneumonini overwintering, but also others (Ophioninae etc.).

Hello,
I have searched a little bit in the web, and from the 4
Tromatobia species occuring in Germany I find
T. lineatoria a very good match (as the only species). It parasitizes orb web spiders (Araneidae) including
Zygiella x-notata - which were present all around there. :)
