Can anyone help with an identification please. I found this Cheilosia in the Lot, south France in a rural garden surrounded by low intensity pasture, August 2014. It's a large Cheilosia at 11.5 mm in length, is in the variabilis group with a hairy face but has dusted sternites like proxima. I'm hoping that for a Cheilosia this combination of features might make it distinctive. I have photos from different angles if required and I have retained the specimen.
Many thanks
Joan
