Hi,
is this Empis aemula? I found the fly on 5.5.2014 near Furth im Wald, Bavaria, Germany.

Hello Ingrid. You identified correctly the subgenus
Xanthempis, but this male looks more like
stercorea to me. Later I'll check at home and will tell you.
