Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Rhaphium longicorne

these flies from heathland in southern england made me think of syntormon but the antennae are much longer than anything I can find in the gallery. And it seems to be the 2nd segment that's the long bit, not the 3rd segment as I expected

they have dark wings and look a bit like Cordilura in the net

What genus are they likely to be?

thanks John, yes I thought appendiculatum and caliginosum had the longest antennae but there it is in the key

it seems to be spread right across the country
